Welcome to the Media Center. Here students learn about different types of literature, discuss books, and explore their deeper meaning. Students learn how libraries are organized and how to find useful information. Students can also select books for research or for pleasure reading. We have several computers here, which students may use for card catalog, internet research and for word-processing.
The Frances S. Tucker Media Center is committed to developing our students’ life long love of reading. We provide a warm, friendly and approachable environment that encourages students, faculty, staff, parents and the community to feel welcome and be able to access the information and materials they need in a timely fashion. It is our vision to develop an ambiance that reflects relevant themes and topics. The Media Center has a mini museum quality. Students have areas to study and do research as well as a small computer lab consisting of 32 computers. One of our unique features is a live streaming studio where we produce our daily morning broadcast, Tucker News. We try to reach out to the entire student body through this venue with various segments and programming to enhance and encourage learning excitement.
During school hours teachers have assigned times to bring their classes for checking out books and research.
Please see your teacher for your child’s assigned library day and time.
Students with outstanding fines/past due books will NOT be allowed to check out books until the books are returned or the fine is paid.
No Food or Drinks are permitted inside the media center.
